In case u are wondering,
eisteddfod [ahy-steth-vod] means an annual competitive festival of poets/musicians/artists who are involve in artistic competitions of their craft..hee...sounds yeng right??ahy-sthethh-vodddd.....muahahhaa...n i proudly announce that this was where i spent my 1st two days of the school holidays...
to be honest, we were not very prepared for the competiton. due to exam, we had our very last practice at the saturday 1 week before the competition. on friday(1 day before competition), we had our briefing n the last sing- through. it was horrible, n i admit i was kinda disappointed n not confident for the competition...we sang worse than the last last competition which we got 3rd place for the district level.
the next day(competition day), we reached smk seafield at 9 sh, settled down, n before we have any time to warm up or even tart singing, it was time for us to try out(test voice) on the stage in the hall...we sang, n the sound system in the hall was hollow, er, means kinda like the feel when one sings in the toilet, u can clearly hear ur own voice...which is bad, for us,at that mo. we were used to singing in choir room which have very strong echo, which can easily cover up any flaws if u sing wrongly.in the hall, every sound u make can be clearly heard. n due to that, we sang very softly, kinda panic, n was like we had forgotten whatever techniques we had learnt for the past few months.dun get me wrong, we knew how to sing of course, but we were not in the situation n kinda forget everything we learnt. frustrated, we went back to the classroom.
everybody started to worry bout the upcoming competition which will begin in a few hours time.we discuss bout what we done wrong n THANK GOD most ppl have finally begin to sense the seriousness of the big problem we're facing n start to focus on our final practice. we have our very last minute sectional practices, n everybody was determine not to repeat the mistake on the stage. come on, we dun wanna let our teacher down just because we're not in the situation YET.its so long since i reali saw us so serious in our singing .in ONE HOUR TIME, all our feelings, singing techniques,emotions came back to us.finally, we remembered how was it like to sing as a choir. reali sing i mean. everyone was like, pheeewwww!!!! so close man, what if we reali forget the flow of the songs???i dare not imagine..its like a MIRACLE for all those things to come back to us in ONE HOUR TIME..thank god.....
so in the end, we did a great job...haha...with us blending our voices with one another, totally FOCUSING in our songs, n ENJOYING the flow of songs...all 'du passt zo gut zu mir',malaysia tanah airku n 'jekyll n hyde' were well-performed. even
Andre the jury CONGRATULATED us after our performance,praise us of doing a great job, though the results were not out yet.
but then we foud out he did so to every other skul...haha...but whatever..we were happy enough to hear his comments.

its weird to c how much time we can spend on camera hovering on our competition day...haha...its a talent we choir members have-take photos no matter where we are!! =]
after our performance, we were lucky to be allowed to watch other teams perform. n they were awesome!!!!the team from philipine are simply amazing, outstanding, remarkable,spectacular, fabulous, any word u could think of...the sang allelujah n 1 of their nation songs...its like omg...a real opera singer like christine daae is signing in person...n they look so mature...u'll think they are of age 20 sth n long since graduated when they are actually onli 15...so u can imagine y they misunderstood us as form 1 form 2 students...aiks...n crescndo voices from johor...i'll never ever say 'burung gagak tua' is a lame song after watching their performance...haha...sibu was also as good...awesome 'phatom of the opera'...though their make up is a bit er...over...can hardly differ a person from another under all those makeup....
p/s: seafielfd canteen's food is memang horrible...beh tahan...oily, expensive,SERIOUSLY lack of choices n even the amount of food is LIMITED...ming zhao suggest the canteen manager hold a tour to our school's canteen n c how a canteen is managed...i totally agree with him..
overall...its a great day=]
